LADY BERLIN by tracey gudwin

For the last four years I have produced the travel TV show “Anthony Bourdain – No Reservations”, ran around the world, ate some funky things and ended up moving from New York City to Berlin, Germany….. I’m a TV Producer, Camera woman, Travel Journalist and now humble foreigner in a new city!

It’s July in Berlin.  I’ve chosen to illustrate this with a photo from January-a  barren, cold- urban landscape marked by a passing train and a colorful stop light. This is a self reminder that in just a couple months I’ll say goodbye to my friend, the sun, for another 9 months.

Today in Berlin, temperatures are reaching 32 degrees C- still haven’t figured out what that means yet, but it’s HOT-not NY super hot, gonna pass out -must have water hot, but rather…oy vey I’m schpritzing a tad-HOT.  This is my first summer here. The first 6 months on the maiden voyage.  AND It’s time to check out one of Berlin’s many small lakes and bath houses. Thank God! Take that NY, my ex lover. You can shove your whole Coney Island straight into that dirty ocean of yours, I’ve got fresh water and tons of naked bathers to ogle at!
