For the last four years I have produced the travel TV show “Anthony Bourdain – No Reservations”, ran around the world, ate some funky things and ended up moving from New York City to Berlin, Germany….. I’m a TV Producer, Camera woman, Travel Journalist and now humble foreigner in a new city!

How to feel bad about another Birthday!
Do I look like I should start thinking about my golden years? Imagine my surprise when the cashier at the POST OFFICE, which is also the BANK asked me after stamping a letter to be mailed if I was planning to REMAIN HERE FOREVER (in Germany). Ok translations are a bitch and maybe that “forever” isn’t really like, MAKE UP YOUR MIND in the next 30 seconds or I won’t mail this important document, but hey, give a girl a little space. She then handed me over a RETIREMENT BROCHURE with a picture of an aging retiree who appears to be enjoying the FOREVER that I could also indulge in if I get my shit together and sign up for their bank’s retirement savings plan RIGHT THIS SECOND. It’s like being carded for your downhill journey into middle age and I’m not having it. Neither at the Bank nor at the Post Office.
